Founded in 1999, CAC Repertory Dance Theatre provides dancers with a comprehensive artistic education and performance opportunities; educating the community and the world of the importance of dance; transcending color lines to tell the human story and continuing to celebrate the Black Dance experience.
The C. Anthony Cole Repertory Dance Theatre was founded in 1999. CACRDT was inspired by "Black Dance" notables Alvin Ailey, Talley Beatty, and Ulysses Dove, in hopes of giving young minority dancers an opportunity to train and perform.CAC Repertory Dance Theatre is San Diego one and only Black Dance Company!
The dancers train in ballet,modern and jazz which allows them to be as disverse as the choreography set on them. CACRDT's purpose is to encompass the purity, passion and the power that is dance.CACRDT also offers a conservatory based training program for youths. This program allows students from various socio- economic backgrounds the opportunity to obtain quality dance training.
Over the past 10 seasons the company has performed throughout Southern California, at home performances, festivals, and benefits. Our goal is to become a globally recognized dance organization, whose name is synonymus with excellence. We believe that dance comes from the people,producing thought provoking and exhilarating performances creates the path that will allow us to achieve our goal.
The CAC Repertory Dance Theatre is currently housed at the Dance Conservatory at 237 East Main St., El Cajon CA, 92021 CACRDT is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization.
